The Minority Faculty Career Development Award (MFCDA) is a $100,000 award given to academicians, dispersed over a five (5) year period.  It is a hallmark recruitment and retention program to support underrepresented in medicine (UiM) junior faculty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, established in 1996 thanks to the efforts of Drs. Marshall Wolf, Howard Hiatt and Robert Handin. The MFCDA is funded by the President’s Office and academic departments. This award is an important part of BWH’s efforts to increase the representation of UiM physicians and scientists in faculty positions at BWH.
